Offering a magnificent collection of more than 2,000 plantings and some 400 species, Cherry Valley Lodge recaptures the tradition of wandering in the woods or through a garden to discover botanical treasures.
A favorite spot for photos, weddings and peaceful repose, the verdant Gazebo Garden features a variety of trees, shrubs and masses of flowers adding splashes of color from spring through autumn. The gazebo in the pond, with a plank walkway, highlights this garden, offering a dramatic spot to view the pond and its surrounding flora and fauna. A winding natural stone path takes visitors on a journey of discovery. The quaint Wedding Arbor garden features Endless Summer hydrangeas, stone patio and pink and white Echinacea or coneflowers located just outside of the library.
The woodsy Cascade Garden showcases trees and shrubs - Mother Natures’ portrait in browns and greens. Stepping stones meander through a collection of rare and beautiful specimens such as three-flower maple (Acer triflorum) and Turkish hazel (Corylus contorta).
Heirloom varieties including beautybush (Kolkwitzia amabilis) and winter honeysuckle (Loricera fragrantissima) add a touch of history. A steep slope, wearing a crown of spruce trees, gives birth to twin streams cascading into a larger pond below.
